The Charlotte Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) has initiated a comprehensive project for the development of Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) for the Charlotte UASI partners to ensure Continuity of Government (COG).

The Charlotte UASI consists of the region surrounding the City of Charlotte, the largest City in North Carolina, and includes the participation of 10 counties, and several Towns, Public Safety entities, and other partner organizations.

The Charlotte UASI selected the BOLDplanning.com system to assist in the creation of their COOP plans and its ongoing maintenance. BOLDplanning.com is a web-based planning tool that guides government organizations through the process of developing Continuity of Operations Plans. The BOLDplanning.com system walks users through each step of the COOP planning process. The system helps in the development of a COOP that clearly outlines the elements required for an organization to continue to perform its Mission Essential Functions during times of disruption.

For this project, the BOLDplanning.com system has been modified to meet the specific planning requirements of the Charlotte UASI. The system has been deployed via the internet at www.CharlotteCOOP.com for this multi-jurisdictional planning project.
